  1. How do I chose the right photo?

The best type of photos are taken in natural light with no bright sun. This helps to create the most realistic fur/hair, eye color, etc. Avoid photos taken in dark rooms and that are taken with older cell phones. The newer phones have better cameras and the trick to taking good pictures is lighting. Please try to find 3-5 photos that show the subject in the pose you would like drawn/painted in with other samples to help with any missing details. Please make sure the photo captures your subjects eyes clearly. Eyes tend to be the focal point on portraits and should be as clear as possible in the photo. My drawings are very detailed and I rely heavily on the quality of the photo to create the most lifelike rendering.

  2. Where do I submit my photo/s?

You can submit your photos to my email jennycsweeney@gmail.com. We can discuss the type of pose you would like and any specifications like background, number of subjects, time frame, etc.

  3. How long does it take to draw/paint each portrait?

For my colored pencil portraits, the typical turnaround time is around three weeks once your deposit is processed and photos are received and agreed upon. The time frame for graphite and watercolor painting is around two weeks once the same parameters are met. If you need a portrait expedited, please discuss your needs with Jenny to set up a custom timeframe.

  4. What are the shipping options?

Each artwork is shipped flat unless otherwise discussed with you. I ship them in photo sleeves with a protective sleeve. I include shipping in my price via USPS to those clients located in the continental United States. For international clients, shipping prices will be discussed and provided prior to the start of your artwork.

When we are children, we seldom think of the future. This innocence leaves us free to enjoy ourselves as few adults can. The day we fret about the future is the day we leave our childhood behind.
